Shocking Processed Food Ingredient Secrets: Eat The Box, NOT The Cereal

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So, we shop for the best breakfast cereal at the local health food store because we know that most top selling cereal brands on the supermarket shelves are loaded with sugar. We know how to eat healthier and live longer – we use only low fat milk in our breakfast cereal. Afterward, we feel nourished and ready for our challenging work day. What’s wrong with this picture?
  • We feel nourished only because the breakfast cereal industry told us so!
  • ALL packaged dry breakfast cereals are produced by a process called extrusion
  • The extrusion process destroys most nutrients in the grains, even the added vitamins!
  • The amino acid lysine, a crucial nutrient, is especially denatured by extrusion and rendered very toxic by this process!
  • We’d eaten a healthier breakfast by throwing out the cereal and consuming the box it came in!
Can you believe this? It blew me away when I read about the following lab rat tests…

Is Bottled water better?

The realization that bottled water is seldom of higher quality than tap water has caused a major shift in public opinion. "It causes 60 million plastic bottles A DAY to be manufactured, transported and then disposed of in U.S. landfills. It's killing our planet, and for no good reason..."

Natural Shampoo Recipes

If you have ever watched a shampoo commercial (think Pantene Pro V or Herbal Essence) you will notice that all of the models have beautiful, thick, and glossy hair. All you have to do is use the shampoo they are advertising and you too will have beautiful hair like the models, right? What they don't tell you is that the models never use the shampoo they are advertising, why would they. Most if not all of the shampoos advertised have harsh chemicals that make your hair fall out and dry out your hair. Years ago I made the switch from Brand Shampoos to Organic, natural shampoos (chemical free). My favorite shampoo and conditioner products are by Aubreys-organics.

Good Bye processed bread, Hello Sprouted bread!

As a bread lover I have had a hard time giving up bread so I sought an alternative. I had a hard time finding bread that didn't contain fructose corn syrup or wasn't processed. I was seeking a bread that not only is healthy and nutritious, but tasty. All bread should have less than 5 ingredients. Most bread sold today has a long list of ingredients that have been added, most chemical.

Last year I came across Ezekiel Bread at my local Whole Foods Market. It's an
organic-sprouted-whole-grain-bread that is not only a complete protein but also weighs in very low on the Glycemic Index. These are the kind of carbs we want to be eating, whole unprocessed whole grain products. All you have to do is take a close look at this bread to see all the whole grains that it consists of. Bread made without flour? Out of sprouted grains, legumes and seeds? This couldn’t possibly taste good, could it? Unlike many breads on the market today you will NOT see ingredients like enriched wheat flour, high fructose corn syrup, or preservatives listed in the ingredients.

Raw Milk vs. Pasteruized Milk

Raw milk straight from the cow or goat is full of the benefits of wonderfully healthy bacteria, vitamins, and enzymes that you simply will not get from store-bought milk. Milk you find on your supermarket shelf is flawed for many reasons.

One reason is the big commercial dairies do not feed their cows grass and hay which is what they are supposed to eat, but rather their cows exist in small feedlots being fed large amounts of grain which is actually not something a cow was meant to eat.
As a result, these cows must be fed antibiotics which in turn are going into your milk. Bleach is also often added to make sure your carton of milk is as white as can be. Scary, isn’t it?

Let’s face it, nail fungus probably isn’t one of the nicest health topics to talk about but it is certainly one which affects a lot of people. The condition is caused by micro-organisms called Dermatophytes. It lives on the nail bed and eats the keratin which is the protein in your nail.
